The Magna Carta
King John was an English King very disliked by his people. He did cruel, unfair things. After the King seized a monastery and banished all of it's monks, and selfishly kept the land and profits to himself It was the year 1215 when King John signed the Magna Carta. It was written by nobles to limit the powers of the monarchy. It did things further than that, it also guaranteed basic liberties for nobles, and the charter protected their trading rights. The Magna Carta changed the political landscape of Britain and beyond.

The Bill of Rights
The Constitution of the United States of America was ratified with the Bill of Rights to suffice the desire for an official document guaranteeing it's citizens specific rights. It gives freedom of speech, religion, and the press. It also established some rules for criminal and trial procedures. The Magna Carta is known as the cornerstone of the Bill of Rights.
